$CHESS – The Future of Chess on the Blockchain

Chess Coin is the first decentralized system that connects chess clubs, players, and arbiters within a secure and transparent environment built on blockchain technology.

The goal of the project is to enable fair and verifiable online competition, where every game, result, and rating is permanently stored on the blockchain.

🔹 How the System Works

Clubs

Chess clubs register on the Chess Coin network and lock a certain number of CHESS tokens as a guarantee of fair participation.
Clubs organize matches directly from their premises, under the supervision of licensed arbiters, eliminating the possibility of cheating or manipulation.

Players

Every player has a blockchain-based profile that records their results, games, and progress.
Games are played exclusively from club premises, under the supervision of an arbiter – just like in official tournaments.
This creates an authentic competitive experience with the added security and transparency that blockchain provides.

Arbiters

Arbiters are responsible for verifying player identities, supervising games, and confirming results.
They also lock a smaller number of CHESS tokens as a symbol of responsibility and a guarantee of impartiality.
All games and results are then automatically recorded on the blockchain, accessible to everyone.

🔹 Compliance with FIDE Online Regulations

If you want Chess Coin online tournaments to be recognized according to FIDE rules, the system fully complies with the official regulations:

“FIDE Online Chess Regulations” (FIDE Laws of Chess – Appendix E)
and
“FIDE Handbook, Chapter 09 – Online Chess Regulations (E.01–E.09)”

Here’s what matters most 👇

🔹 Legal Basis for Online Tournaments

According to FIDE Laws of Chess, Appendix E (adopted in 2021 and updated in 2023),
FIDE recognizes Online Chess Competitions and defines two main categories:

  1. Online Games Played on Approved Servers – games played on approved platforms (e.g. Lichess, Chess.com, Tornelo, or any custom platform meeting FIDE technical standards).
  2. Hybrid Chess Eventscombined tournaments where players compete from controlled venues (e.g. clubs), under supervision of arbiters, and with cameras monitoring the play — exactly what the Chess Coin system enables.

🔹 Article E.01 – Definition of “Hybrid Events”

“Hybrid chess competitions are tournaments in which all players are physically present in official venues such as clubs or federations, under the supervision of arbiters, while connected to a chess platform via the Internet.”

FIDE officially recognizes hybrid tournaments as valid competitions, under the following conditions:

  • Players must be physically present in controlled venues (clubs),
  • The tournament must be supervised by an arbiter,
  • Video monitoring and identity verification must be ensured,
  • The platform must store all games, logs, and evidence of play.

🔹 Article E.04 – Role of the Arbiter

“Arbiters must be present in each playing venue and have full authority to supervise the games, ensure fair play, and communicate with the chief arbiter.”

This means that each venue (club) must have an official FIDE arbiter or a verified referee to oversee matches – perfectly aligned with Chess Coin’s structure.

🔹 Article E.07 – Fair Play & Anti-Cheating

“Organizers must ensure anti-cheating measures, including video monitoring, controlled environment, and approved software tools.”

In other words, if the games are played under camera supervision, monitored by arbiters, and the system uses software that records all moves and data on the blockchain, the tournament can be legally recognized and validated by FIDE.

✅ Conclusion

The Chess Coin system fully aligns with FIDE Online Chess Regulations (Appendix E) because it operates as a Hybrid Chess Model:

  • Players compete from verified club locations under camera surveillance,
  • Arbiters confirm player identities and oversee matches,
  • Games are securely recorded on the blockchain,
  • The entire system ensures full transparency and fair play.
